"There is magic in New Zealand, it comes from the unique microflora of the land..”

The RAAIE philosophy is to harness the healing alchemy of the natural world, with a focus on rare New Zealand botanicals.

New Zealand botanicals are unique because they experience some of the greatest UV exposure on the planet. To survive they have had to develop a defensive mechanism: they generate incredibly high levels of antioxidants. These antioxidants benefit our skin in the same way they benefit the plants, protecting and repairing the cells to promote healthy, clear, luminous skin.

Harnessing plants from extreme environments

New Zealand’s land, alpine and sea botanicals have developed defensive mechanisms to survive and thrive in their unique New Zealand environment, where the compromised ozone layer offers little protection against aggressive UV rays.

Land Botanicals

New Zealand’s botanicals have developed their own defensive mechanisms to survive and thrive in the harsh New Zealand environment. They do this by producing very high levels of antioxidants such as flavonoids, phenolic compounds, alkaloids, and phytoestrogens. These act as ‘plant sunscreens’, providing protection for the plants against UV radiation.

Sea Botanicals

Seaweed from the pristine waters of the southern tip of the South Island has some of the highest nutritional counts in the world because of the ocean streams that come directly up from the Antarctic, bringing a plethora of antioxidants and rich minerals.

Alpine Flora

Flourishing in sub-arctic temperatures, high UV radiation, strong winds and extremely dry conditions, our alpine flora is packed with nourishing oils and moisturising agents.
